Why Eat Raw??
Sometimes we don’t stop and question why we do things, we just do what we have been taught or have seen on tv through advertising, whether or not it is working for us. By that I am saying – in regards to raw ‘live’ foods – what happened?? Somewhere along the line, someone discovered fire and then we started experimenting with cooking our food. No other creature on our planet does this, and the only thing different from those creatures really is that we have a mind, but we all have hearts, livers and so on and they all eat a raw diet…..we don’t see them cooking their foods!!
If Diabetes, Heart Disease, Obesity, just to name a few, are because of what we eat, then doesn’t it make sense to really look at what we eat and change that???
You are what you eat!!
Food is consumed for the nutritional value it provides, but it also should be pleasureable.
Raw live foods for a live body. Nutrient, vitamin, enzyme and mineral rich – the way nature intended!!
We know nutrient void, highly processed, highly sugared foods are not good for us, yet we keep on eating them.
You don’t have to read labels, count calories, carbs or things like that. It’s actually using the KISS method (Keeping It Simple Silly), but like learning anything new, there is a learning curve and some discomfort of letting go or changing things that are familiar to us even if they aren’t the best for us.
Giving your body the highest quality food (and organic whenever possible) is real healthcare. No vitamin or pill can give you what real raw foods can. You will feel the difference. Raw foods have enzymes (needed the most), vitamins, minerals and nutrients that are naturally and easily digested.
The more raw ‘ live’ foods you can incoporate into you ‘diet’, the better. Each of us are indiviuals and some may say that you have to be 100% raw or at least 80% raw or whatever, but I believe what may work for me may not be the best for you. Some people will do extremely well on 80% raw and someone else may not, so please listen to you body, get to know it and it will let you know what you need especially the more you clean it up by getting away from highly process, sugar ladden and dead food.
There is no judgement there, it is your body and that is why I created this blog, to bring awareness, offer suggestions, inspiration & motivation to eat raw and eat healthier and live healthier whether it’s just getting away from the processed junk or the emotional eating. Eating more raw helps!!!
Raw ‘live’ foods are foods that come from nature and have not been processed or cooked above 118 degrees F, best is 105 – 108 degrees, after that, all the good stuff (enzymes, vitamins, minerals, nutrients) are destroyed. We are eating fod, but with very little if any nutritional value in it.
Disease cannot survive in an alkaline environment, it can only live in an acidic environment. Highly processed, sugary, dead foods, negative emotions all contribute to an acidic environment.
Enzymes assist the body in repairing itself. They also help in the digestion of foods in the body. We are born with a pool of enzymes, but over time of eating dead foods, that pool gets depleted that’s when aging, disease and deterioration starts. Paturization, nicotine, alcohol and caffeine also deplete them. Enzymes are known as the ‘spark of life‘.
Vitamins & Minerals - you can take a pill or you can eat real ‘live’ foods, what makes more sense??? Don’t even get me started on the pill thing, the main thing about most supplements out there is that they are synthetic and composed of fillers, they are dead to the body and in most cases the body doesn’t know what to do with them, hence alot of them end up in the toilets. Their nutritional properties are essential to the proper maintenance of human bodily functions.
I know that when I eat mostly raw if not all raw, I feel the difference and that is why going and staying raw makes sense to me. If diet is the reason for so many of these diseases, then it only makes sense to eat more of how nature intended, this food was put here for a reason!!!
Raw food is living. Your body is living and should be thriving, not just surviving!!
