Good and Bad are just different perspectives. The truth is nothing.

Remember, perspective can cause 2 people to look at the same thing and see 2 totally different things.

Sometimes the only reason for us to be somewhere else is to see things from a different perspective!
– Leila Summers
When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.
I was in Yoga class yesterday with the awesome Ana from the Drishti Centre in Mexico and she used the analogy of comparing Photography with Yoga – interesting concept.
Lets take a different perspective even outside the class in every day life and situations.
If for example, on my camera I only use a 50mm lens – then I tend to miss out on much. I either need possibly a macro lens for close ups to really get a better picture of what I am seeing or a telephoto so I can get like a bird’s eye view of things and no so much detail.
Purposely for a few years I went and got several Prime lenses – 35mm (wide angle) 50mm (every day) and an 85mm lens (good for portraits) – I still had my telephoto lenses but I focused on using these as if I wanted to really see or get a different photo aka perspective I had to move around – I had to be willing to be flexible and try and see things differently.
Yes one can stand there with their zoom lens and zoom in and out but they don’t have to move their body so it’s not as effective as truly looking with your eyes and moving around to get different views.
Since travelling I use one lens – yet since using Primes a few years ago I move my body still to get different angels, different lighting and I have even laid down to get a shot or climbed a tree – I am willing to be flexible.
In Yoga classes – I can go to 4 classes of Ana’s a week and I never get the same class – sometimes Yin with Yang mixed in, sometimes Hatha, even Vinyasa – and it all helps me to be present in the moment, surrender and be open and they are always awesome classes – sometimes easy and other times kick ass!
What is your perspective on things – could it be more open? Flexible? Not only in life yet also with Yoga – don’t come to conclusions or judgments – life flows better that way!!
Great article on Yoga and DNA which I am diving deeper into – boy have they kept much from us!!
Stay bendy and healthy in many ways!!
