Chocolate on Valentines

I have been playing around a little with making some chocolates for the special ones in my life.

Valentine’s Day is a celebration of romance and chocolate candy is both an everyday pleasure and a token of love. Sales of chocolate candy soar on Valentine’s Day as men buy it as a gift to express their love to their wives and girlfriends.  But what if there is not that special someone in your life on this day? Why is it one day we stop and get romantic and the people who aren’t in a relationship feel left out??

Well, I say we need to celebrate love every day, no matter who we are with.  If that means loving ourselves more, then that is what we should do.  We are often, us women in particular and well I can only speak for myself, but I have been quite hard on myself in the past, and that just doesn’t fly any more.  Life is way tooooo short to be hard on oneself, so today if there is not a significant other in your life, make yourself first and foremost and do something special for YOU, buy yourself some great chocolates, or flowers, or have a long soak in the tub with some candles and a glass of wine, or get a massage or have a work out or send some chocolates to a friend or whatever turns your crank, but show some love and have some fun!!

I can’t yet share my recipe for chocolates as I have been experimenting and I haven’t come up with the best one I think.  They are fun to make and of course everyone in the house loves them, and they are on the healthy side too!!!  There are such pros and cons about chocolate, even raw cacao, for health benefits or not to consume at all.  My belief is that in moderation and good quality is ok, after all we are here for only a little while, we might as well have some fun!!!

These chocolates have

cacao butter

cacao powder

coconut oil

vanilla

honey

maca

spirulina

and nuts.

Have a Happy Valentines Day and give some love, especially to yourself!!!
