One of the great things with summer is all the fresh foods and the wonderful friends that share with you!! I had a dear friend share a bunch of plums with me this past week and after eating some I had to create something different – I was pleasantly surprised and got good feedback from the friends that tried it.
Another easy and tasty dish that makes eating healthy easy. totally vegan almost raw, if you decide to leave out the black beans then it is raw!!
– 12 – 16 smaller Plums
– 4 small Cucumbers
– 1 cup finely chopped Cilantro
– juice of 1 Lime
– ½ Jalapeno pepper finely chopped
– ½ finely chopped purple Onion
– 1 Red Pepper finely chopped
– ¾ tsp Himalayan Sea salt (adjust to taste)
– 1 can Black Beans drained
– pinch Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Mix well all ingredients together in a bowl
Serve as a side relish dish or use as a salsa for nacho chips.

So it’s been a couple of weeks since posting but boy have I been busy!!
Not necessarily living life on my terms yet I did create it as I asked for it and got it – funny how that happens eh??
We are strong creators – we create everything, every moment in our lives – everything is energy!!!
Like it or not – believe it or not!!
I got to work in the film industry and boy did I see a lot, learn a lot, work a lot and met some amazing people – yes on the screen but especially behind the screen!!
I had no idea what went into making a pilot or series and they only shot one episode so far!!! Lol
I also learned how they do shoot some scenes and how the make things and create the illusion of things being real.
What you look at is what you see, but how are you looking at it? Example – if you look in the mirror and you are frowning do you try and change the mirror or do you try and smile to change the image……life is the same thing, it only reflects back to us what we are thinking, feeling and believing.
Life is like living an illusion – what you put out comes back……….
We have the power to change that at any time if you aren’t liking what you are seeing, feeling or living.
Thoughts and feelings ARE Powerful.
Get clear on what you do want in your life and You can create it – believe that is possible!!

I previous mentioned that I was not going to talk about food much but interesting enough I have been in conversations the last few days and it keeps coming up for me. I realize that all my studying, training, trial and errors, eating disorders etc that I do in fact know a lot yet at the same time I know so little but I do know that most people are very confused!!!
When I was in my teens I counted calories like crazy and weighed myself oh probably 2 – 5 times a day – not healthy!!
I started counting carbs, proteins etc – not healthy and man what a time consumer!!
I even tried different diets (ha google that word and see how many come up – like seriously) – not healthy!!
I restricted myself many times – not healthy!!
Then I would over eat or binge – not healthy!!
If I ate something I thought I shouldn’t eat or wasn’t suppose to eat I would beat myself up – not healthy!!!
If I ate only a few things day in or day out – not healthy!!!
If I keep going to the fridge even though I was full and keep eating – not healthy!!
Going all day without eating then eating all night right before bed and late into the evening – hot healthy!!
If I ate in front of the tv or computer – not healthy!!!
If I ate only completely dead or processed foods – not healthy!!!!
Get the picture?? Can you relate to any of those? This is not to beat yourself up over as here are a few things to keep it easy and healthy.
Eat as natural or fresh as often as possible – which in the summer months is easy depending on where you live.
Try to stay away from or eat as little as possible of processed, dead foods – or as I like to call them ‘ chemical concoctions called food’.
Keep it as close to nature as possible.
When buying canned or package foods – be able to read and know the ingredients – in other words if you can’t pronounce it or can’t even figure out what the heck it is stay away – keep the ingredient list simple.
Use Superfoods like Hemp, Chia, Goji’s Coconut Oil, etc
Eat when hungry.
Drink lots of water.
Try and stay away from breads, pasteurization, most dairy, homogenization (find out why and you won’t choose products with that done to them), synthetic vitamins, whites -like sugar and flour just to give you an idea
Even by eating as healthy as one can for their own body you still need to add in super foods and supplement – just make sure it’s real food type supplements and not symthetics
Eating Healthy doesn’t have to be hard, difficult, boring or frustrating.

You can do so much with tomatoes and depending on the time of year the taste can be beyond words!!!
This recipes is easy and tasty.
Of course I used the Spiralizer to make the Zucchini noodles, which you can find on the Shop page or your local health food might sell it if they have carry raw foods there.
– 1 cup Sundried Tomatoes – they add a nice flavor and can be found in most stores, I didn’t use the ones soaked in oil and I soaked them in water for about an hour, anything longer than 10 minutes should be fine
– 2 – 3 Tomatoes Roma, depending on the size of them
– 2 cloves of Garlic
– 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
– juice of 1/2 Lemon
– 8 – 10 Basil Leaves
– Pepper to taste
Drain the Sundired Tomatoes and put all ingredients in the Vitamix (or Blender) process until the desired consistency is achieved, if you like it kind of chunky or really smooth, it is good both ways!!
Pour over your Zucchini noodles (or pasta) and garnish and serve immediately. Serves 2

Why is it that we can be so good during the week and crash on the weekends?
Do we hold it all in and then expel on the weekend, letting go of anything and everything
Even when it comes to eating healthier.
Have we ever put the corrulation together of what we do and are doing each moment, each day to how we eat or relate to ourselves
By that I mean how many of us are really doing the things that we love, that our spirit whispers to us that are us down at soul level compared to what we think we should be doing, have to do or need to do.
Where does our soul fit in along the way?
It’s like we almost live 2 lives, one of holding on and one of letting go, chilaxing, quiet desperation. Then Monday comes again and we hold on, hold it in. We can restrict ourselves for the week, in many different ways but with food inparticular – no I can’t have that I’m on a diet or that is the wrong food group or I have to exercise 4 times this week as I ate way too much on the weekends, and then really let go and do / have whatever on the weekend. It sounds like restriction, demands, self criticism and never a feeling of being good enough.
We live in a world that we are constantly innedated with advertising telling us we aren’t good enough!!
What if we just let go and breathed.
Gotta pay the bills, dam I put on 5 lbs, my job needs me, my thighs are too fat, I’m not driving a nice enough car – blah blah blah,
I have asked or said to myself many times, we weren’t put on this planet to work 40 plus hours a week or work 40 plus hours a week at a job that doesn’t fulfil or isn’t in line with me, saps my energy or for a pay check
Yet I also know that some situations call for that as life and basic survival are way out of whack now.
Can you imagine if we were able to do what we love to do, or were good at or came easily to us how life could be different for each one of us and then how we presented ourselves to the world, to ourselves and each other……it would be much more in harmony.
Possibly the need to push the pain down with food would ease or stop all together – the need to numb ourselves on the weekend would stop, weekend what weekend? Life would just be lived each day all day, being present in the moment in the body……..so that the diet roller coast would stop, the self judgment, the stress, the denial, the pain…….we would be who we are meant to be right down at soul level.
What are you denying yourself?
What is whispering to you that you say one day, maybe but not now, or I can’t do / be / have that??
Who are you and what things do you love to have and do?
What is stopping you?
Come on now, really no excuses, no victims – what is stopping you?
Can you look in the mirror no matter what is going on in your life, how much you weigh, what you’re doing, where you are living, what you do for an income and say ‘hey you, I love you and you are enough?
Maybe today is the day!!
Make this weekend, the long weekend a great one and spend some time with you and loving you!!

If after the holidays you are left feeling sluggish, a little heavy feeling, maybe a few extra pounds on as well, then this you may like. I also know after the holidays of some over indulgents this may also seem boring, but you and your body will love you for it!! It’s easy to make, quick, simple, healthy, tasty, nutritious , full of enzymes, vitamins and nutrients, and will help you lose that sluggish, tired and feeling a little full feeling!!
Great for lunches, light dinners or even a snack.
– Big Handful of Organic (if possible) Spinach
– 1 chopped up Carrot
– 1 chopped up Celery stick
– 1 clove of Garlic
– juice of 1/2 Lime (or Lemon)
– 1/2 cup Parsley
– sea salt to taste
– 1/2 Avocado
– 3/4 cup Water
Throw all ingredients into your Vitamix or blender and blend until smooth. For more of a creaminess you can add the whole Avocado or cut back a little on the water, if you want it thinner add a little more water.
This is a guideline, but you can throw any vegetable in, but you want lots of greens….spinach , kale, collards etc and herbs….use any that you like. Garlic and salt adjust to your liking……just don’t use table salt!!
If you want it warm, you can slight warm it on the stove, BUT do NOT heat it or boil it as it will kill all the nutrients, enzymes, vitamins and minerals. We are programmed to eat HOT foods or think we need them and I know at times living in the rainforest here that I want warming foods……add spices like cumin, chili peppers etc to warm you up inside.
Experiment with the flavors and if you are needing to chew, when you’ve got the soup to how you like it, throw in a few veggies and just pulse for a min or two so you will have a chunky soup or have some crackers with it.

So 2012 is now here…….did you have a great New Years? Did you set any New Years Resolutions or Intentions? Yes I know I am a little behind, I had full intentions of getting this out earlier but we had a death in the family New Years day and I have been doing some thinking about life and living since then.
Every year it seems most of us set resolutions or goals……they have a list of the most favorite top 10 NY’s Resolutions……you know…quitting smoking, lose weight, get into better shape, make more money, work less, spend more time with family, tame the bulge……. but by March we are back where we once were, resolutions forgotten. Now, we made them with good intentions, or maybe after a few glasses of bubbly….so what is the trick?
Life is too short not to be living the way we want to be. Set your intentions…….be very clear on what you want, the more clarity the better. write it out, see it, feel it and believe it. For instance, lets say you want to lose weight…..don’t just say I want to lose weight or even 10 lbs……yes you can say I want to lose 10 lbs, but how will that feel, what will you look like? Will you feel and look healthy, alive more vibrant? Then picture that. Create a dream board with photos on it or with one of the new phones you can record you goal….get detailed about you will feel and listen it to every day especially when you are feeling weak or want to give up. Clear intentions……..I know I have set mine out, wrote it out and even voice recorded mine so I can listen to it every day…..as I want to make every day count……isn’t that what’s life all about?? Here’s to making 2012 our best year yet!!! JB

If you are not familiar with EFT, it’s not short for Electronic Funds Transfer…..it’s short for Emotional Freedom Technique or otherwise known as Tapping.
I believe that EFT is an amazing tool to help anyone overcome many things that may be holding them back.
It’s energy physchology which is not new but it is to so many of us. Science, Quantum Physics and backing this more than ever now.
Energy is everywhere and we many not be able to see it, but often we feel it or sense it. Many times we don’t listen to it when our bodies are telling us no, as our heads get in the way. It is like electricity, we don’t have to see it for it to work, or even believe it it is there and does it’s thing…….just like energy.
EFT is a simple way is pshychological acupressure. One taps on varies acupressure points while focusing on the thought, feeling, memory that is leaving a person feel anything but good.
In this short video I share some ideas of using EFT when one is struggling with some food issues as overweight and emotional eating are at an all time high. I speak from experience of my days of disordered eating.
