ok, lets be honest here, did you make any resolutions this year and if so were they the same ones as last years and the year before?
Here are the top resolutions – that get repeated every year, year after year:
Lose Weight and Get Fit
Learn Something New
Eat Healthier and Diet
Get Out of Debt and Save Money
Spend More Time with Family
Travel to New Places
Be Less Stressed
January comes and the gyms are full after the December binging and over spending.
February rolls around and there is less wait time for the machines at the gym and more room in the Yoga classes. Then, by March, April at the latest, everyone is back to their same old routines and the resolutions, well that is for next year! 🙂
In 2020, we can push ourselves to do (actually I prefer the word be)our best without pressure, anxiety, stress or false promises.
We don’t need to compete, judge or beat ourselves up (most of us have gotten really good at that and we got to let that go!).
There is a difference between resolutions and intentions.
Intentions need to be heart felt.
What does that mean?
It’s one thing to say I want to lose 10 lbs (as an example) but if you’re really not coming from the heart, it’s only wishful thinking or a heady decision (as in I should lose the weight) yet not heart felt.
So, it won’t happen.
Why do you want to lose 10 lbs? (or anything else on your resolution list)
Get behind and feel the reason, keep asking yourself why? How will it serve me or how will I feel when x happens (in this example I lose 10 lbs)?
Tap into the feeling you truly desire.
That feeling of already losing 10 lbs and see it in your minds eye (close your eyes and go within and really picture yourself 10 lbs lighter) then create the feelings to go along with it.
It could be to just feel better in your body, or to feel more confident, sexy or beautiful or whatever, you want to tap into that felling and feel it.
What is cool about this is – your mind does NOT know the difference between real or imagined – it’s just like a computer -whatever you program it with, it responds. Therefore, the more you can see it AND feel it, you can do / be it!
If you can do that, when there are moments of it getting tough, or the monkey mind starts chattering to you why all the reasons you should stop or eat this or that or not go for the walk, you can tap back into the feeling you want to have more permanently.
That is taking back your power, that is overriding your ego / monkey mind, that is being you and more aligned with the real you.
It’s time to not push ourselves in a way that gets us burnt out, compete or give up. It’s time to tap into different feelings so we can step into the best version of ourselves, with no pressure to compete against anything outside of ourself.
When we set intentions that are heart felt and not to compete with anything or anyone outside of ourselves, then we are also overcoming those emotions of fearing failure, fearing what people think of us, fearing that we’re not good enough.
That’s the power behind intentions compared to resolutions.
Here’s to saying goodbye to the past, to letting go what weighs us down, things that are not our truth or are inauthentic and to being appreciative of what 2019’s challenges have taught us.
Here’s to welcoming in 2020 with clear intentions, self love and gratitude for all.
My mantra for 2020 is:
Everyday in every way, I expect and choose to believe in magical moments and miracles.
I wonder what would happen if we started our days with a mantra like that, oh how the world might change!!

Intentions vs Resolutions – Intentions Bring Light
Happy 2018 – what a fantastic year it’s going to be!!
Now that we are a few days into the New Year how are your NY’s Resolutions going?
What do I mean exactly by Intentions vs Resolutions?
I did say in my last post I would share – here goes.
Most people do the same ole thing every year – set the same resolutions – and they have them narrowed down to the same top 10 that most people choose,
get out of debt
make more money
You get the idea.
One starts off strong and by mid February if not sooner they’re back doing the same ole. Just watch the amount of traffic at a gym or yoga studio from the first week in January and then agin in February.
People are creatures of habits – trust me I know!
So how to make 2018 different……
One truly needs to et very clear on what it is they desire – not just think they want but heart felt.
Start by creating a list of what things, ways of being etc you no longer want in your life.
Having unclarity in One’s Life is like living in a Fog
Get VERY clear.
From there make a list of things or how you want to be in your life and keep refining it so you are clear.
Get into the feelings of it – we want to access the emotional / feeling part of it and this is where one needs to be honest with oneself on what they truly desire.
It’s not always about the big house, new car, sitting on the beach all day – what feelings do you want to feel?
Healthy and vitality?
Is it a different career that brings so much fulfillment?
Is it a new healthy relationship with yourself? Your body? or a beloved?
If your life is here and you desire to be there (whatever there is) – what feelings and emotions do you have now in your life and what feelings and emotions would you need to have to be over there (having your desires)?
The only difference between here and there is your beliefs, programs (and man are they deep especially with cultural and communities etc), fears, doubts – they ALL act as filters.
The more you can see it in your minds eye – remember what Einstein said
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.”
Get Creative with YOUR Imagination!!
The mind does NOT know the difference between real and imagined!!!!
So the more one can step into clear knowing of what they truly desire, let go and blow up all the programs, fears, doubts etc cause they are all nothing but big fat fucking lies anyways – the truth is always abundance and always love – look around at nature – always abundant! Then create and step into the feelings of it already being done – it may sound silly BUT IT WORKS! 🙂

PLEASE NOTE: Lack of anything is man made – it’s a construct, a program and is not natural to the Laws of the Universe.
You can NOT create something unless you picture it in your minds eye and also create an elevated emotion.
The more you do that with your desires – WITH ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY – then it has to happen.
Everything is Energy – YOU being the observer of YOUR Dreams then can create matter aka manifest in physical form.
How cool is that?
Here is a simple analogy that may make is easier to comprehend.
You work 40 hrs a week and are needing a break. You want to go on a holiday, so you start looking at resorts to go to to get away (usually not just from your job but your life too and more than likely the weather), you search the internet, look at different places, see the pools, beach, oh all you can eat etc – I bet right now you can feel how it would feel to be lying on one of those chairs on the beach feeling the heat on your body, the gentle breeze blowing, the smell of the ocean and you can hear the waves crashing on the shore – then the beach server asks you what you would like to drink……….get the idea??
More people spend more time creating a great get away then they do their life.
Lets do that with your life.
Remember, the only limitation is you!!
So drop and stop all those NY’s resolutions and get clear on what YOU intend to have happen in your life and step into the energy of being it – that is also called changing and raising YOUR Vibration!!

Went into a Mexican town near where I am staying to this restaurant that served the best shrimp ever. We got the lat table and parking space as it was busy in this area with a New Years Day celebration going on al over and people were every where!
I got to watch the people having fun, playing, eating, celebrating – what joy! Then I got to watch the sunset – and that is one of my most favourite things to do is watching the sun rise or set – such beauty and in the moment!!

Now that we know from Part one why New Years Resolutions suck – what can we do differently to make sure 2017 doesn’t turn out like 2016, 2015, 2014 and so on!
We all have things we want to improve on, work towards, change or let go of – go ahead and make that list of those things.
Now ask yourself why? Why is it I want to have, be or do those things……..keep asking yourself why or even what will it mean?
When you’ve gone as far as you can now dig a little bit and ask how you will feel when you get there.
I want to lose 5 lbs
Because my clothes won’t feel so tight
What does that mean to me?
I can wear more of my clothes and feel better in my body.
How does that feel when I think of myself being able to wear more of my clothes and feel better in my body.
I will feel more confident, more attractive, healthier……..
What you are truly going for is the feeling or essence of what you desire – if there is no emotion behind it, there is no energy and it will not happen.
I want to lose 5 lbs
because, I do
Yes but why?
I don’t know, so I can fit in my clothes but it never happens, this probably won’t be any different this time (you may be thinking as well)
How will that make you feel?
I don’t know, better……
See the difference, better yet FEEL the difference.
Get some energy behind what you truly desire not just in New Year’s Resolutions but anything in life – E-motion is Energy in Motion – if there is truly just nothing there there will be nothing there. Time to spend some time and get real and honest with yourself. I you want to lose 5 lbs but have no interest in doing anything different and really don’t care if you first into more of your clothes or not – then just be honest with yourself so that later on you don’t have an excuse to mentally or verbally beat yourself up.
On you have the why, the emotion and the energy behind it – then you will more naturally move in directions that will help you on that path – all of a sudden some of your cravings may go down, or you just aren’t as interested in eating some of those foods, or tv well what a waste time lets go for a walk, get out in nature or do some stretching become a priority.
Pay attention though – you may get tested a few days in – go back read our why, the emotions and you may need to really bring those feelings to the forefront again as since we are human beings it can be easy to fall back into old patterns and programming – it takes minimum 21 days to change a habit / pattern as we are creating neuro-pathways.
I know you can do it though – you’ve got it in you.
Why settle for mediocrity where there is so much more out there!!
You deserve it!!

As I sit and write this on the last day of 2015, I’m thinking back over the past year and what an incredible year it’s been. I have so much to be thankful for and if you are reading this that includes you as without you I wouldn’t have a blog!
I was able to leave my job I had for a short time in film as I created a residual income, did two amazing 6 week road trips down through the southern states getting my fill of sun, beach and warm weather with an incredible man, (and many photos taken), Plus many little side trips in between, I started picking up my camera more and now know that 2016 will have much more camera action going on. I have made many new incredible friends, ate amazing food, got my health back, started meditating, had more gratitude for things and people, got excited more at the little things in life, began deprogramming myself on many levels of programs that weren’t even mine (still going on of course lol), watched and captured many amazing sunsets, got to see whales, dolphins, bears and a few others in the wild, had many picnics, created art, got to walk my dog in the rainforest, made love often and turned 50………….
I share that with you not to brag but to show what is possible. for me I had to step away from the norm and what was expected of me. Plus my kids turned 20 & 21 and are off doing their thing now – so it’s become more me focused and not in an ego type way!
I gave up making New Years Resolutions many years ago and now create intentions and get in touch with the truth of who I really am – or keep trying to – I am human!
Most New Year Resolutions are the same as last years, the year before and so on.
The most common ones are
– lose weight
– get into better shape
– get healthier
– make more money
– get out of debt
– quit smoking
– spend more time with family
– quit drinking
– more travelling
They are also the the most commonly broken!
What about being happy? What makes you sing, get you excited, make your juices flow. What about creating a life YOU love? Without comparing it to anyone else or what they have or are doing?
So I ask you – how will it be different this year? How will you do things differently?
What changes could you make, even if they were tiny things yet done daily, that could become more permanent in your way of living taking you closer to how you want to live and feel? So that at the end of 2016 you can look back and love what happened!

So 2012 is now here…….did you have a great New Years? Did you set any New Years Resolutions or Intentions? Yes I know I am a little behind, I had full intentions of getting this out earlier but we had a death in the family New Years day and I have been doing some thinking about life and living since then.
Every year it seems most of us set resolutions or goals……they have a list of the most favorite top 10 NY’s Resolutions……you know…quitting smoking, lose weight, get into better shape, make more money, work less, spend more time with family, tame the bulge……. but by March we are back where we once were, resolutions forgotten. Now, we made them with good intentions, or maybe after a few glasses of bubbly….so what is the trick?
Life is too short not to be living the way we want to be. Set your intentions…….be very clear on what you want, the more clarity the better. write it out, see it, feel it and believe it. For instance, lets say you want to lose weight…..don’t just say I want to lose weight or even 10 lbs……yes you can say I want to lose 10 lbs, but how will that feel, what will you look like? Will you feel and look healthy, alive more vibrant? Then picture that. Create a dream board with photos on it or with one of the new phones you can record you goal….get detailed about you will feel and listen it to every day especially when you are feeling weak or want to give up. Clear intentions……..I know I have set mine out, wrote it out and even voice recorded mine so I can listen to it every day…..as I want to make every day count……isn’t that what’s life all about?? Here’s to making 2012 our best year yet!!! JB
